2025/26 Season 5-Aside Information 

Welcome to the 2025/2026 Summer 5-aside Season!

All games will be played at Kakaha Park, Birches on Tuesday evenings. 


Propsed dates - to be confirmed

Seniors (17+)

21 October 2025 - 9 December 2025 - 8 rounds

20 January 2026 - 3 March 2026 - 7 rounds


Juniors & Youth (U4, U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16)

21 October 2025 - 9 December 2025 - 8 rounds

3 February 2026 - 3 March 2026 - 5 rounds

Games will be played on Canterbury Anniversary Day (Cup Day). 


Games times - to be confirmed as numbers dependent

All junior games are 30 minutes - 15 mins each way, with no half time break. 

Juniors age 4-6 -  always play at 5.30pm on the small junior fields

Juniors age 7-8 - always play at 5.30pm, on larger fields

Juniors age 9-10 - play at either 5.30 or 6.10pm so keep an eye on the draw

Juniors age 11-14 - always play at 6.10pm


All senior games are 40 minutes - 20 mins each way with no half time break. 

Seniors - always play at 6.50pm 

Some grades may have a BYE so check the draw each week.

Registrations for the 2025/26 season will open in August 2025.

FAQs

How does the club communicate? Via email throughout the season and Facebook on the day for any cancellations. 

Do we need to have a mix of male and female players?

All senior teams must have a minimum of one female player on field at all times. Junior teams can be mixed, or all female or all male. 

Do we need to supply a team Manager?

Yes, all teams must have someone nominated to recieve communications and be the main point of contact. 

Do we need to supply a Coach?

There is no formal coaching, only games. We will leave it up to individual teams to organise their own training sessions. 

Are there proper games or is it more a run-around/drills?

All 5-aside sessions are games. There are no drills or training sessions, but you are welcome to organise your own.  Rules can be found on this page

What are the costs to enter?

This depends on the age group, all junior and youth teams were $250/team for the 2024/2025 season and Seniors were $350/team. 2025/26 fees to be confirmed.

Do we need to purchase your tee shirts or can we have someone else sponsor a team? 

Teams supply their own team tops or use our bibs.There are bibs available each week if you have two teams with the same colour tops playing each other. Numbers on the tops are not essential. 

Do we supply referees or are they supplied?

Each team needs to provide a referee and be prepared to referee at least half a game. Due to the number of teams entering the competition, we cannot provide referees for games.
