Prebbleton Hotel 5-aside Rules - 2025/26
1. Teams
1.1. Each team can have a maximum of 11 players, with 5 on the field at any one time. Four players are required to start within four minutes of the starting horn otherwise a default is given.
1.2. Where there are five players all senior teams must always have a minimum of one female player on the pitch (junior /intermediate teams excluded).
2. Infringements
2.1. All infringements shall be penalized with an indirect free kick at the point of infringement or at least 5 meters from the goal (own goals count).
2.2. No slide tackles are permitted.
2.3. No offside. Corners and throw-ins as per football rules. You can score from a corner.
2.4. The referee’s decision is final.
3. Restarts
3.1. Teams are allowed unlimited rolling substitutions when the ball is out of play. Players enter from halfway.
3.2. Games will start and finish on the horn. A game will consist of two halves of fifteen minutes each way for juniors and twenty minutes each with for seniors, with a straight turn around signalled by the horn.
3.3. Throw-ins must be from the place where the ball exited the sideline, be thrown from behind the head with two hands in a continuous movement and direction with both feet on the ground. You cannot score directly from a throw-in.
3.4. The defending team must be a minimum of 5 meters from the ball at the time of any free kick, goal kick (from the goal line within 5 meters of the goal) and corner kick or kick off.
3.5. At the start of a half or following a goal, the ball shall be kicked in any direction and be touched by another player. You can score directly from kick off.
4. No Goalkeeper
4.1. No player can assume the right to handle the ball (excludes throw-ins). Handling the ball to prevent a goal will result in a goal being awarded.
5. Administration
5.1. If games are cancelled due to weather a notification will be sent to teams and/or a notice put on our Facebook page.
5.2. No refunds of competition fees will be given.
5.3. Players will be asked to leave the pitch for violent or offensive behaviour as determined by the referee and cannot be replaced by another player. The organizer reserves the rights to exclude a player from a game or the tournament. All players must abide by the PFC Code of Conduct.
5.4. Apart from official sponsors, no advertising is permitted unless arranged with the organizer.
5.5. Each team or individual player must be registered and have paid the fees to participate in the tournament.
5.6. Each team is required to provide a referee for their game.
6. Gear
6.1. Teams are required to wear matching tops (Bibs are available and must be returned nightly).
6.2 Sensible covered footwear preferable with a grip sole. No slippers, bare feet, flip flops or steel caps. Shin pads are compulsory.
7. Scoring
7.1. An attacking player can only score from within the opposition half.
7.2. Points: Win:3 Draw: 1 Loss:0 Bye:3
7.3. Teams defaulted against will receive a 5-0 goal win.
All other normal football rules apply, common sense prevails.
