First Kicks

First Kicks is for children aged 4-7 years. It is part of the New Zealand Football Whole of Football Framework 2.0. It is designed to assist players to develop the basic football skills through direct coaching, fun, practice and games. Please note that players must be aged 4 years old by 30th April 2026 to be able to register to play ijn 2026.

This year sessions will be led again by Matt Sands, with support from other committed parent-coaches. A huge shout out to everyone who has offered to coach - this is where our football community and culture begins. If you would like to help in some way, please let us know. 

All sessions are run at Kakaha Park, Birchs Road, Prebbleton.

Season Dates

Sessions will run 10am - 10.45am on Saturday mornings from 2 May - 5 September. Please arrive early to sign in. 

2 May - 27 June, then no sessions during the school holidays, then 25 July - 5 September. There is no session on 30 May (Kings Birthday).

Fun Football Hub - 8th and 9th Grade

Fun Football is for 8-9 year olds.

Fun Football sits outside of the Mainland Football competitive grades, however we are currently working with a number of local football clubs to establish an inter-club competition/hub for the 2026 season.

Whilst the finer details of the proposed hub are still being worked through, the proposal is that Prebbleton FC teams will play home and away games against the other 'hub' clubs and in a competition format that will be similar to the the Mainland Football competition grades. The games will most likely be played on Saturday mornings, however kick-off time(s) are yet to be confirmed.

More information is to follow, however we believe that this is a really exciting development for our 8-9 year old players and we look forward sharing some more details very soon!

Coaching 

We are a small community based club. We have many talented coaches, but due to the numbers of children now in our First Kicks and Fun Football programmes we do rely on parents to help us run the sessions/teams and so that everyone gets the most out of them. If you are able to help then please contact us or indicate this on the registration form. You don't need any experience! 

Uniform 

Shin pads are compulsory for all players. Football boots are recommended - no metal cleats.
